Welcome to Geiger Elementary

Geiger Elementary is helping all students develop the world-class skills and life and career characteristics of the profile of the graduate by creating a culture of teamwork. The concept of teamwork drives our staff and vision for success and collaboration. Our school’s greatest strengths come from its wonderful student body, excellent parents, community support, and dedicated staff working together. This collective group truly believes that it takes “Teamwork to Make the Dream Work!” The school serves approximately 300 students in Child Development - 6th grade.

The Geiger Team works hard to create a positive and nurturing learning environment so our students can reach academic excellence. Some of our academic achievements include: Geiger being named a Title One School of Progress for our academic growth on the state test in previous years. Eleven students being accepted to the Early STEM Academy.

Geiger is also proud to boast Beta Club Winners six years in a row at the State Convention in South Carolina and a second place finalist in the Social Studies division at the National Convention in 2018.

Student achievement continues to be the top priority, as teachers collaborate and design lessons that provide differentiated instruction and utilize data to meet the needs of each student. Fostering a collaborative culture among our students is also a major goal and is achieved through technology, such as interactive clear touch panels, IPADS, chrome books, and kindles which maximize learning among our students. Teachers focus on the uniqueness of each student to improve instruction and address all learning styles while developing critical thinkers. Geiger is focusing on developing critical thinker through our Coding Club, Robotics, various STEAM activities and project based learning opportunities.

In addition to providing a rigorous academic curriculum, Geiger continues to focus on the development of the total child by implementing, mentoring and educational programs such as school-wide club day, Geiger Gems and Gents, GG’s Cheer Squad, Chorus, Art Club, Miss Geiger Pageant, and multiple award programs. Our students are also part of smaller families within the Geiger Family. The families support and encourage each other during spirit days and school wide competitions.

At Geiger, the students also benefited from the sixth year of PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions Supports) initiative partnered with our Stop, Walk, and Talk Bully Prevention program, which strongly support positive social skills and a reduction of behavior problems. Our teachers believe in teaching the whole child through life skills and lifelong guidelines, community building activities, and emphasizing the "positives." Our students participated in numerous activities throughout the year that promoted the positives and the life skills of responsibility, caring, and initiative such as, Student Data Notebooks, Reading Counts, and Pennies for Patients, Breast Cancer Awareness, Jump Rope for Heart and visiting the local nursing home.

It is our hope that the collective efforts of parents, teachers, and the community will enable our students to reach their highest potential and display that “Tiger Pride” and “Grow to Geiger Greatness!”
